THE Vancouver Foundation is expanding its Neighbourhood Small Grants program to include West Vancouver.

The program started in 1999 with one neighbourhood, and soon expanded to nine, and then 16 neighbourhoods. In the last two years, it has grown into Surrey, North Vancouver and New Westminster.

Under this most recent expansion, the program will include all Vancouver neighbourhoods through existing partners, with services on the North Shore expanded to include West Vancouver.

The basic philosophy of the program is to empower neighbourhoods to make small grants of up to $1,000 for local projects that build connections between residents.

The grants help stimulate creativity, encourage local solutions, build connections between neighbours, and engage people in the life of their community.

The deadline to apply for a Neighbourhood Small Grant is March 31. For more information, visit vancouverfoundation.ca/nsg.
