Representatives of the North Shore Women's Centre hosted their 40th anniversary fundraising gala Oct. 19 at North Vancouver's Gordon Smith Gallery of Canadian Art. The event celebrated North Shore women and art, and guests were treated to local artisan food and wine. Proceeds will support the drop-in resource centre, which provides a variety of services ranging from workshops to a growing health and wellness program. To raise further funds, the centre has just launched a holiday season online silent auction that boasts a variety of items, including trips, event tickets, gift certificates and artisan products.
