A routine traffic stop last week netted West Vancouver police four arrests and a concealed weapon.

A West Vancouver officer pulled over a black Honda Accord in the 3700-block of Cypress Bowl Road Sept. 20, after the officer allegedly spotted it speeding.

After running the names of the four occupants through the Canadian Police Information Centre, the officer discovered the vehicles licence plates and insurance decal had been reported stolen.

The driver of the car, Aristetutuo Cababe, 38, of Burnaby, was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. Cabebe was also found to be hiding a large knife in his waistband, said police.

The officer found that another 21-year-old occupant of the car was violating the terms of his release on an unrelated offence, and that a woman with them, also 21, was allegedly carrying a stolen licence. Both were arrested and charged.

A fourth passenger was detained and later released.
