Vancouver police are looking for the pilot of a boat that came dangerously close to the SeaBus.
The incident happened on just before 1 p.m. May 5, prompting a warning from the police and the Vancouver Fraser Port Authourity.
“The master of the SeaBus sounded his horn several times to alert the approaching pleasure craft of the impending collision but the pleasure craft continued to adjust its court to align itself directly with the midship of the Sea Bus,” a statement from the VPD marine unit read.
The SeaBus captain executed an emergency stop and the dangerous boaters passed by within 30 feet of the SeaBus bow.
Police describe the suspect boat as a white Sport Fish style, 28 to 32 feet in length, with two black outboard motors. There were two men and a woman board at the time.
