North Shore organizations that invest in positive change in the community may be eligible to receive a grant from Vancity.
In 2013, grants of up to $15,000 are available for initiatives that focus on social justice and financial inclusion, the environment and a co-operative economy. The grant options are as follows: $15,000 maximum funding for projects/programs; $2,500 maximum funding for conferences, workshops, and forums; and $1,000 maximum funding for community festivals.
Funding is provided for up to 70 per cent of the total project/program budget, including cash and in-kind contributions. Vancity offers a continuous application intake and approximate response times are eight to 10 weeks.
