UPDATE (JULY 17, 1:30 p.m.)

One person has been sent to hospital following a morning collision with a public transit bus in North Vancouver.

Around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, a driver of a grey Mazda was turning left off Lynn Valley Road toward the Highway 1 westbound onramp when it was hit by a TransLink bus travelling south, according to police.

The car driver suffered minor injuries and was rushed to hospital in an ambulance, said Cpl. Mansoor Sahak, North Vancouver RCMP spokesperson.

No one else was hurt in the collision, he said.

The scene was cleared by 9:30 a.m., Sahak said.


ORIGINAL (JULY 17, 10 a.m.)

A TransLink bus and at least one other vehicle were involved in a crash in North Vancouver, Thursday morning.

At 8:30 a.m., a 228 Grand Boulevard bus could be seen pulled to the side of the road near the Highway 1 westbound onramp on Lynn Valley Road.

A car that had been struck was perpendicular to the bus, and was stopped across the bike lane and pedestrian walkway that runs under the overpass.

Bystanders were attending to what appeared to be the driver of the struck car, who was lying on the ground next to the vehicle. The airbag in the car had deployed.

Police have been reached for more information on the crash.
