WEST Vancouver police have nabbed a youth wanted for attempted armed robbery and uttering threats.
The young man first popped up on police radar June 14 after he allegedly threatened two other teens with a knife and demanded money outside Park Royal. The victims told him they had none, and the suspect ran off.
Police took down the youth's description and called in the K9 unit but were unable to find the culprit.
The next day, officers were dispatched to another call from Park Royal, this time from a store employee who claimed to have been threatened. The incident was caught on mall security cameras.
Two days later, West Van constables were flagged down once again in the 1300-block of Marine Drive by a young person who said he was being "followed and threatened."
This time police arrested the suspect without incident. Investigators concluded he was the young man they had been looking for in the last two incidents.
Police have recommended charges of robbery, possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and three counts of uttering threats.
