The North Shores three municipal councils will meet tonight to debate issues ranging from property taxes to coach houses to their own rate of pay.

At the City of North Vancouver, council will consider its 2012 tax rate, with finance staff recommending a two per cent hike with an additional one per cent on top of that to help pay for a redevelopment of Harry Jerome recreation centre.

Council will also try to settle its long-running dispute with Ottawa Gardens landlord Arnold Wallner, and will take a first look at a coach house proposal that strays over the established size limits, the second such project in as many weeks.

The District of North Vancouver will vote on its 2012-2016 financial plan based on a two per cent tax rise. Council will also discuss rezoning the site of the deadly 2005 Blueridge landslide as a park, and naming that park after Eliza Kuttner, who was killed in the landslide.

In West Vancouver, councillors will hear public feedback on how much they ought to be paid, and discuss a long-term mechanism that would keep council compensation in line with similar-sized communities. Also on the agenda is a request to more than triple the money spent on the fire departments radios: Moving from a $60,000 to a $210,630 system would bring the departments equipment up to par with other E-Comm members.

A TransLink performance report for the final quarter of 2011 will be presented for information.
