Sutherland Secondary and Queensbury Elementary were briefly put on lockdown Wednesday as police dealt with a suspect on the run.
Officers were looking for a man just before noon following a domestic dispute that may have involved a knife, according to Cpl. Richard De Jong, North Vancouver RCMP spokesman.
Because it was near the school, police advised them to go into a lockdown “out of an abundance of caution” and nobody in the school’s safety was in jeopardy, De Jong said.
With a canine unit, police found the suspect and took him into custody without incident.
