IT'S Carole Anderson's spirit and strength that make her a fantastic North Shore mom, says her daughter Kimberly.
She and her brother Jason say their mom's optimism, happiness and easy-going nature are some of her best qualities.
Carole has beaten breast cancer, been through kidney failure, dialysis and received a kidney transplant from her cousin (Lizz is also a fantastic North Shore mom!).
Carole is 72 now and although she is faced with more health problems lately, she is still smiling and laughing and making the most of life every chance she gets.
What is your favourite memory of your mom growing up?
Later in life, my mother visited me in South Africa many times.
I have lots of great memories from there, including bird watching, game drives, rhino lips, fleeing from angry elephants, and bare-foot thunder storms.
Are you similar to your mom in any way?
It's uncanny how similar our tastes are with regards to sports, foods and humour.
