A West Vancouver concession stand got swept up in excitement when Hollywood A-lister Matt Damon stopped by for a visit Wednesday afternoon.

Damon popped into the Dundarave Beach Tea Hut at the foot of 23rd Street with his wife and about eight children to buy his young entourage ice cream, according to owner Raymond Poirer. Staff at the Tea Hut went a little crazy at the sighting.

"They came close to wetting their pants, almost. They were very star-struck; they couldn't believe it," said Poirer.

"He's really, really famous and they said he's better looking than he looks in his photos, and he's extremely nice."

Damon, who is in town filming the sci-fi movie Elysium, was down to earth and had no problem posing for a quick photo, said Poirer.
