'TIS the season to hit the slopes and the Canadian Ski Council is once again selling its annual SnowPass.
The pass is available to kids in Grade 4 or Grade 5, or nine-or 10-year-olds (who were born in 2002 or 2003).
When you purchase a SnowPass, you receive a card that includes three free lift tickets for each and every participating ski and snowboard area across Canada. The list of participating areas is available on the SnowPass website.
Grouse Mountain, Mount Seymour and Whistler Blackcomb are among participating venues.
The list includes more than 150 different venues across Canada, with 33 ski areas in British Columbia and 34 ski areas in Ontario, among other provinces.
The fee for the pass is $29.95. Applications are available online and at participating Sport Chek stores across Canada.
Cypress Mountain offers a similar program called The Grade 4/5 Kids Love Cypress Program, which is open to students in Grade 4 or Grade 5 and between nine and 10 years old (as of November 1, 2012) born in 2002 or 2003 and living in British Columbia.
Program participants can ski or ride free for three visits this winter at Cypress Mountain. Limited Quantities are available. Applications are available online at cypressmountain.com. There is a $2 fee that is donated to the Cypress Mountain Relay for Life Team.
The participating venues in the SnowPass and Cypress programs may have restrictions including blackout dates during some peak periods, as well as the requirement for an accompanying adult, youth or senior ticket to be purchased.
