Police are looking for four people they say played a part in a swarming theft at a North Vancouver store.

The suspects were part of a group of about six who entered the outlet on East Keith Road just before noon Sept. 13. While some fanned out through the store and others made a small purchase, some members of the group allegedly broke into a private area and made their way upstairs to the owners residence.

The suspected intruders returned with some $16,000 in cash and jewelry and then left the premises, according to investigators.

A witness at the store, believing they had just seen a burglary, called 9-1-1. North Vancouver RCMP reached the area a short time later and arrested two women, but the others fled.

Florentina Dumitru, 37, and Loredana Chiciu, 33, both of Montreal, have been charged with break and enter and theft. Dumitru, who already has outstanding warrants in Quebec and Ontario, is also facing charges of possession of break-and-enter tools and possession of stolen property. The women are due in court Wednesday.

The remaining suspects included two men and two women of Eastern European origin in their middle years. They may have been wearing baggy clothing, said police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311.
