There was a thief in McDonald's, and it wasn't the Hamburglar. Police are trying to identify the fast food customers who swiped donation boxes from the counters of two McDonald's restaurants last July.
Despite pictures of the suspects, figuring out who was responsible has been made difficult by the thieves' attire, according to Cpl. Richard De Jong, North Vancouver RCMP spokesman. "In wearing a toque during the warm summer months, police suspect there was intentionality in trying to shield or hide their appearance," De Jong stated in a press release.
The donation boxes were for Ronald McDonald House, a charity that provides accommodation for family members of seriously ill children who need to stay overnight in Vancouver while their child receives medical treatment.
Police are asking anyone who can identify the suspects to contact North Vancouver RCMP Const. Alyssa Macneil at 604-985-1311.
