NORTH Vancouver RCMP officers are asking the rightful owner of a stolen saw to come forward.

Police arrested a man in the Windsor Park neighbourhood Sunday night, and recovered several items from him they believe are stolen. Among the goods was a corded DeWalt reciprocating saw.

"The owner of the tool may not know that it's missing, and so we're asking anyone who lives in the Windsor Park area to check their yards and sheds," said detachment spokesman Sgt. Peter DeVries in a written release.

"Identifying the owner of this tool will give us the evidence we need in order to recommend a charge against the person who stole it. The person arrested is a prolific offender who is well known to us, and if he is responsible for this theft, then our hope is that charges will help keep him from taking someone else's property in the future."

The owner of the saw should call Const. Raymond at 604-969-7509.

The arrested man's name will not be released unless the Crown approves charges against him.
