These items are constantly floating around our homes but never where they should be. Perhaps it's time to take another look at our storage cupboards and drawers and rethink their set up.
Small items such as paper clips and elastics are best stored in the mini-organizers that you find in dollar stores or office supply stores like Staples. These sectioned-off trays are perfect for storing smaller items. When placed inside your kitchen drawer they will not move around. Every stray elastic band can be easily tossed in its designated compartment ready for use the next time.
Have you ever wondered what to do with the extra buttons that come with your new clothing items? Here's a simple and great idea to store them. Purchase a credit card book from Staples or other stationery store and place each labelled button in the plastic holders. This way you will always know where to look the next time you require that spare button.
Store your nail polish bottles in plastic or glass storage containers. These can be found at your local grocery store and will always keep leaks and spills at bay.
Empty paint cans (available at Home Depot) are wonderful for storing bills, receipts and invoices for your home office. Lay them on their side in your pantry for easy access.
Jam jars are fantastic for storing Q-Tips, cotton balls and toothbrushes in bathrooms. Once they are empty place them in the dishwasher to clean.
Use an empty wine rack for storing magazines. Not only is this a chic look but extremely practical beside your television room couch.
Lastly, don't throw away those take-out menus in your mail. Simply place them in a binder and keep in your kitchen drawer for easy referral next time you are in a take-out mood.
