Grocery volunteer: Grocery volunteers assist clients in selecting free food and keep the grocery "store" stocked and tidy.
Gift wrap: Volunteers are needed to wrap gifts during a holiday fundraiser for a local charity. Training is provided and shifts are available throughout the holiday season until Dec. 24. Come and meet new people, support a local nonprofit and enjoy in the festive season.
Christmas helper: The North Shore Salvation Army is seeking volunteers to help with assembly and organization of Christmas hampers and lunches for the Coats for Kids campaign.
Mock interviewer: A volunteer is needed to provide a safe and positive learning opportunity for First Step clients to practise their interview skills. Mock interviews are scheduled for one morning, usually Tuesdays, during the final week of the four-week full-time program. Volunteer also must be able to answer participant questions; provide written feedback on prepared evaluation sheet for each participant and review overall experience with coordinator or program staff.
