Mahon Park Steward: Volunteer will be working in the native demonstration garden in North Vancouver's Mahon Park removing weeds (invasive plants), planting native plants and also mapping plants in the park.

Garden Volunteer: Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden in Vancouver is looking for a volunteer to assist in the maintenance of the pristine condition of the garden.

Volunteer for Seniors' One Stop Office: Mature, patient volunteer who speaks Mandarin or Cantonese, has good verbal communication and computer skills is needed. Responsibilities include answering telephones, assisting walk-in clients by providing appropriate information and referrals. Shifts available: Thursday and Friday mornings (two to four hours). Comprehensive training provided.

Newcomer to Canada Book Club Leader: The facilitator's job is to ask questions to encourage discussion, keep the discussion going and get each participant to share their own ideas and opinions about what they are reading. Sometimes the facilitators have to explain parts of the book that may be challenging to understand or idioms or turns of phrases that the participants are unfamiliar with.

Board Member: The board of directors of North Shore Community Resources Society, a local non-profit multi-service agency serving infants through seniors, has openings for a treasurer and members-at-large. It is a policy board with 15 members who are encouraged to share their expertise through committee work. The board meets six times yearly.
