Treasurer: A volunteer is wanted to serve as treasurer for the church board and congregation. The volunteer will be responsible for the oversight of all revenues and expenses of the church, preparing a budget and handling the payroll. Treasurer must attend the management meeting once a month.

Walk Leader: North Shore Neighbourhood House is looking for a friendly, outgoing and patient English-speaking North Shore resident to lead a weekly walking group for newcomers to Canada. The volunteer should be familiar with easy and intermediate walking trails on the North Shore. This position runs Thursdays from Sept. 20 to Nov. 8, 9: 30-11: 30 a.m.

School Ambassador: The Heart and Stroke Foundation is looking for school ambassador volunteers. The duties could include: public speaking in front of school assemblies presenting the description of the Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart events and also attending events to provide customer service.

One-To-One Visitor: Volunteers are needed to visit residents in an intermediate care facility, go for a walk, drive or shopping or just read to them for an hour. You will be matched with one specific person to allow you to build a worthwhile relationship.

Usher: Kay Meek Centre is looking for a volunteer to greet patrons coming in to the theatre; provide clear and concise information on location of box office, theatres and concession areas; take tickets and hand out programs. Must be able to provide clear directions and remain calm under pressure, especially during an emergency evacuation situation.
