A 61-year-old North Vancouver man is recovering after being robbed and dragged behind the getaway car in a Vancouver jewelry heist.
The man had just finished buying from a jeweller in the 100-block of East Broadway around 12: 30 p.m. Monday and was walking North on Quebec Street when a suspect came up behind him, snatched the bag of jewelry from his hands and ran to a waiting car.
The victim chased and tried to grab hold of the thief and was subsequently dragged for one block by the fleeing vehicle.
Paramedics found the man at the scene and offered treatment for minor injuries, according to Vancouver police.
He was taken to hospital as a precaution.
While the police have not identified the suspect, they are not releasing descriptions of the suspect or vehicle "due to investigative reasons."
