Richard Walton addressed the crowd at a Wednesday night information session at the Lynn Valley Community Centre focused on the potential removal of park dedication from a 140-metre long, six-metre wide gravel path that leads into the body of Kirkstone Park.

The alternate approval process was challenged by the Lynn Valley Community Association, who called on council to put the matter to referendum. Mosaic development company has pledged to enlarge the park by 6,828 square feet.

The plan is contingent on Mosaic's proposal to replace the 61-unit Emery Place with a 411-unit development comprised of four buildings between five and 12 storeys. The development has drawn the ire of tenants concerned about displacement. The proposal includes 84 market and affordable rentals.

The project is scheduled to come before council April 16 for first reading.
