Aramis and Clémentine Richard, ages 13 and 8, search for clues in the North Shore Culture Compass Heritage Treasure Hunt.

Anyone up for a treasure hunt?

The North Shore Culture Compass is currently running a Heritage Week contest that will help get you out of the house and could win you a $1,200 staycation prize package that includes a night at a North Vancouver hotel.

To join the hunt, head over to the Culture Compass website. There, you can download a map that will lead you to locations around the City of North Vancouver where you’ll soak up the area’s history while picking up the clues needed to complete your contest entry. All seven clues are visible from the outside at locations on or near the Green Necklace walking trail. The circuit takes about one hour to walk, and can also be easily accessed by bicycle.

For those who can’t get around outside or are looking for an extra heritage hunt challenge, there is also an online treasure search that can be done from the comfort of couch. If you're a true treasure seeker you can complete both hunts – on foot and online – and make two entries for the grand prize, which includes a one-night stay at Lonsdale Quay Hotel; a $100 gift card for Park Royal; admission tickets to Grouse Mountain Resort; admission tickets to Capilano Suspension Bridge; e-bike rentals with Reckless Shipyards eBikes; and more swag from Vancouver’s North Shore Tourism and North Shore Culture Compass.

The contest closes March 15. Happy hunting!
