NORTH Vancouver RCMP are asking for the publics help to find a 26-year-old man whose disappearance they are calling unusual.

Seyed Merhdad Nourbakhsh-Saleh was last seen by his family at about 4 p.m. on Dec. 27, when he left their home in North Vancouver. He was reported missing three days later.

Family members have told investigators it is unusual for Nourbakhsh-Saleh to be out of contact for that long. Neither his cellphone nor his bank card has been used since he went missing.

Police havent linked his disappearance to any gang ties, although Nourhbakhsh-Saleh has had previous brushes with the law.

In May of 2010, he was given a six-month conditional sentence and put on probation for a year in downtown community court after being found guilty of assault with a weapon.

In August of this year, he was charged with break-and-enter, assault causing bodily harm and possession of a controlled substance in North Vancouver. That case is still before the courts.

Nourbakhsh-Saleh is described as a Persian man with a balding shaved head. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black shoes and dark blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call the RCMP at 604-985-1311.
