Have your say on bus plan priorities

TransLink seeks public input online, at meetings

NORTH Shore residents who want more and better bus service can have their say and see what TransLink is planning at several upcoming public meetings.

The community meetings are part of the North Shore Area Transit Plan, which sets out the future of transit from now to the year 2040. This is TransLink's last round of public consultation before deciding which North Shore transit and infrastructure projects to focus on.

TransLink has identified 13 projects as high priorities:

- A new east-west route between Lynn Valley Town Centre and Park Royal via Edgemont;

- Extending the Georgia Street transit-priority lane hours to 7 p.m. daily;

- Changing #258 Marine/UBC to follow the route of #44;

- Increasing capacity and frequency on #230/#24;

- A new community shuttle between Lynn Valley and Phibbs Exchange;

- Redesigning N24 NightBus route to go between downtown Vancouver and Lynn Valley Town Centre (formerly to Upper Lonsdale);

- Improving connections on #240;

- Redesigning Phibbs, Park Royal and Lonsdale Quay Exchanges;

- Making the one-way community shuttle routes into two-way routes on:

. Dundarave and Park Royal via Mathers and Queens;

. British Properties via Chartwell;

. Caulfeild/Westmount.

Residents can go online to leave their feedback from May 18 to June 14, or attend several face-to-face public meetings:
