THE North Vancouver District Public Library is inviting its patrons to borrow one of its 12 new e-readers as part of a six-month pilot project.

The library now stocks four Kindles, four Kobos and four Sony Pocket Readers. Each comes pre-loaded with 10 popular titles, and borrowers can also download e-books onto their readers from the Library to Go service, available on the library's website, www.nvdpl.ca.

"The public's interest in e-books is exploding." said Heather Scoular, director of library services in a written release. "This pilot project will give the library, and our patrons, valuable hands-on experience with working with e-readers in a library context."

Both the West Vancouver Memorial Library and the North Vancouver City Library also lend out a variety of e-readers, although patrons may need to join a waiting list.
