The District of North Vancouver is currently accepting nominations for its Civic Youth Awards Program.
The program recognizes young people aged 10 to 24 for their achievements and contributions to the community. This year, the district will hand out awards in four categories.
The Youth Recognition Award recognizes those who have recorded noteworthy achievements, or who have made considerable progress, in a particular endeavor.
The Youth Community Enhancement Award recognizes youth who have made positive contributions to the community on a voluntary basis.
The Outstanding Youth Friendly Business/Supporter of Youth Award recognizes a business and/or individual that has performed an exceptional job providing opportunities or support to youth.
Finally, the Outstanding Youth Team Award recognizes a group of youth who have completed a minimum of 50 hours per person of community or school service.
Nomination forms can be picked up at District Hall, 355 West Queens St., North Vancouver, or downloaded from dnv.org (under youth). The deadline for nominations is March 12.
Awards will be presented May 5, in conjunction with BC Youth Week May 1-7.
