Strengthen your core with the energy of Hip Hop

Dance is one of the most ancient human activities. Used to tell stories, reinforce rituals and encourage social interaction, today dance has evolved to include a number of disciplines that promote self expression and enhance personal fitness.

Located in the heart of North Vancouver's Blueridge area, Seymour Dance school has been serving North Shore residents for over 40 years. Today, owner and artistic director Sonia Ellis provides a professional atmosphere where people of all ages can explore the joy of dance.

And all dance is good for you. Hip-Hop is a high

energy way to workout. Hip-hop gives you a great cardiovascular workout, boosts coordination, improves rhythm and may even give you some new moves for the next time you hit the dance floor.

Similar to what you'll see in current music videos, it's also a great chance to learn choreography. The music energizes you with out thinking you are working out.

Hip-hop dance wear is simply comfortable, baggy clothes and clean indoor running shoes. It's available on Monday nights for all levels.

"Our adult classes are easy going and are based on having fun," says Ellis. "They are a great place to meet new friends or to sign up with existing friends to try something new together.
