Dog Wash Fundraiser: The West Vancouver BC SPCA will hold a dog wash Sunday, July 29, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at 1020 Marine Dr., West Vancouver (in Ambleside Park). Fee: minimum $20 per wash. All proceeds go to help animals.

UBC Law Students' Legal Advice Program: Low income individuals can seek free legal advice at clinics at the North Shore Neighbourhood House, 225 East Second St., North Vancouver. Clinics will be open Tuesdays and Fridays, 10 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m., and Wednesdays, 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., until Aug.17. To book an appointment call 604-822-5791.

Learn to Fish Program: The Freshwater Fisheries Society of B.C. is offering classes for families every Sunday until Aug. 19, from 10 a.m. to noon at Rice Lake in North Vancouver's Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve. Pitch Your Pennies for Good: The public is asked to donate their discontinued pennies to the North Shore Community Resources Society and they to be donated to a good cause in the community. Stamp Collection Fundraiser: Got any used postage stamps? Bring them in to the receptionist at the North Shore News, 126 East 15th St., North Vancouver. Collection is for the fraternal organization Order of the Eastern Star, which uses money from the sale of stamps to purchase medical supplies to make and provide dressings for cancer patients throughout the province.
