The City of North Vancouver is joining other Metro Vancouver municipalities in slowly reopening some of its outdoor parks and recreation facilities.
Outdoor tennis and pickleball courts, basketball courts, the skate park at Harry Jerome rec centre, the Moodyville pump track, the disc golf course at Eastview Park, and the Ray Perrault bocce pit are now opening following weeks of closure due to COVID-19, according to Mayor Linda Buchanan
“In March we took the actions necessary at the time to help slow the spread of the virus, and I thank our community for doing their part. We’re able to take this next step of opening more city amenities for residents to enjoy because people have done their part,” stated Buchanan, in a series of tweets Saturday.
While some of these facilities are reopening, Buchanan reminded people that no large gatherings are permitted and physical distancing should be practiced at all times when using a city park or court.
On Saturday, West Vancouver also started reopening some its outdoor rec spaces.
