City of North Vancouver Coun. Craig Keating will continue to serve as party boss of the B.C. NDP.
Keating was re-elected as president of the B.C. NDP by party members for his second two-year term at the party’s convention in Victoria last weekend.
As president, Keating has responsibility for seeing that the party’s machinations and fundraising go smoothly.
In a statement from the NDP, Keating laid out his priorities for the job over the next two years.
“Between implementing campaign finance reform, to campaigning for proportional representation, to supporting the good work of the BC NDP government, the next year is going to be very busy. I know these focused and capable folks are up for the challenge of helping our party build a better B.C.,” he said.
Keating has served on city council for seven terms. He also ran for MLA in North Vancouver-Lonsdale in 2005 and 2013, placing second both times, and he teaches history at Langara College.
