Canada Helps online

NOT everyone has time to volunteer, but for those who can't there's an easy way to ask for charitable donations for Christmas instead of more stuff.

NOT everyone has time to volunteer, but for those who can't there's an easy way to ask for charitable donations for Christmas instead of more stuff.

CanadaHelps, a website that organizes charitable donations for charities across the country, has set up a Cause Wish List website where people can create a list of their favourite charities and ask for donations for the holidays.

The site allows people to search all 85,000 registered charities in the country by place and their missions. Users create their own page with all their favourite charities, and fundraise online.

"There are those of us who don't need more stuff and a Cause Wish List can be an appealing option - instead of asking for more things, consider asking for donations to a cause that's important to you," says Owen Charters, president and CEO, CanadaHelps, in a release. Gift cards are available in amounts ranging from $5 to $10,000 to give to people who can then choose to donate the money to any charity.
