Burnaby North-Seymour’s Liberal MP is getting a promotion, or at least more job responsibilities.

The Prime Minister’s Office announced Friday afternoon that Terry Beech was being appointed parliamentary secretary to the Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages. This is in addition to his existing role as parl-sec. to the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard.

A release from Beech’s office attributes the promotion to his help in the creation of a new regional development agency specific to British Columbia.

“This important initiative is a recognition of the diverse regional economic realities that exist in Western Canada, and it will have a positive impact for B.C. industries and local businesses,” the release stated.
