West Vancouver police are warning the public to be on the lookout for a furry perpetrator they say broke into a car in British Properties and made off with some unattended goodies.
Investigators were called to the 500-block of St. Andrews Road Thursday when someone reported an overnight theft from an automobile.
On arrival, the officers found that the passenger-side window of the vehicle had been smashed and some food stolen from inside. The unidentified culprit had also left incriminating dents, scratches and nose prints on the side of the car, and had taken nothing besides the mouthwatering edibles, leading investigators to conclude the burglar had been motivated by munchies and equipped only with paws.
The incident has prompted the West Vancouver police to remind residents to keep food, garbage and other bear attractants securely locked away at all times.
Leaving them in the car, it would seem, isnt good enough.
