An opening reception launching the latest exhibition at the Seymour Art Gallery was held Jan. 12. The annual juried Discovery exhibition for new and emerging artists features works by 28 artists. The pieces speak to the show's theme and title, Air. As part of the exhibition, the gallery is presenting Poetry Meets Art: An Afternoon of Poetry Inspired by the Artwork, Sunday, Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. Awardwinning poet Fran Bourassa will serve as host and will be joined by a number of other local writers in addition to community members at large who are invited to share poems inspired by the show at the event's open mic portion.
