A new destination for mountain bikers of all abilities is coming to the North Shore.
On Friday, June 6, Grouse Mountain’s bike park will open for its first season atop the iconic alpine resort in North Vancouver.
Once open, guests will be able to access Grouse Bike Park via its Blue Grouse Gondola – which started taking skiers and riders up the mountain for the first time in December – making it the first lift-accessed bike park in the region.
The highly anticipated, lift-accessed mountain bike park built by world-renowned builder Gravity Logic brings a welcome addition to existing thrill-seeking activities available on the mountain top, the resort said in a statement.
Riders can look forward to a variety tracks, including beginner green and blue flow trails, a blue jump line and single-black technical trails, the resort said.
A double black single track will also open in June, with a single-black jump line slated to open later this summer. Eliminating the need for climbing, Grouse Mountain will offer the North Shore’s only lift-accessed mountain bike park.
New bike park ideal for post-work rides and summer camps, resort says
Growing enthusiasm for mountain biking in the Lower Mainland combined with Grouse’s existing infrastructure make the bike park a natural step to enhance all-season offerings, said Michael Cameron, president of Grouse Mountain Resort.
“The trails at Grouse Bike Park cater to riders of all skill levels, and we’re excited to feed the appetite of the community while contributing to the renowned trails already present on Vancouver’s North Shore,” he said.
“Grouse Mountain’s sweeping Vancouver views, Screaming Eagle chairlift access, and convenient North Shore location make Grouse Bike Park the ideal place for post-work rides, mountain bike summer camps, and everything in between,” the statement continued.
Grouse Bike Park season passes are on sale now, available for 20-per-cent off until this Saturday (May 11). While on sale, season passes for adults are $399, youth (13-18) and seniors (65-plus) are $339, and children are $299.
Summer camps and lessons will also be available soon, the resort said.
