of hockey equipment he wants for Christmas, including a jersey, skates, a helmet and more. When Christmas morning arrives, he is happy to discover he has gotten everything he asked for, but is sad to discover none of it fits. It's all too big. Although it's never explained why his parents would buy him a whole bunch of equipment that doesn't fit, the story finishes with a happy ending as Nicholas figures out a solution to his problem.
