UBC signs Wade Davis to teaching gig

West Vancouver-born/world-renowned ethnographer Wade Davis is joining the faculty of the University of British Columbia. Although he has lectured at universities around the world, this is his first-ever appointment as professor.

Wade Davis, who first came to prominence with the publicaiton of his 1985 book, The Serpent and the Rainbow, will become a prof in UBC's Department of Anthropology in July 2014.

West Vancouver-born/world-renowned ethnographer Wade Davis is joining the faculty of the University of British Columbia. Although he has lectured at universities around the world, this is his first-ever appointment as professor. He will arrive at UBC in July 2014 as a professor in the Department of Anthropology and research associate with the Museum of Anthropology, and will be based at the Liu Institute for Global Issues.
