Art Contest for North Vancouver Students: As part of the North Vancouver RCMP's anti-graffiti program they will partner with the city and district to invite students to participate in the beautification process of North Vancouver. Selected art will be enlarged and wrapped around utility cabinets. The theme will be "Nature of the North Shore." Deadline for submissions: Wednesday, May 15, 4 p.m. Info: Cst. Start With Art: An exhibition that aims to educate children and cultivate the love of art and art collecting will run until May 4 at the Seymour Art Gallery, 4360 Gallant Ave., North Vancouver. Artwork is priced in a kid-friendly range and is only available for purchase by kids 16 and younger. Adopt-A-Fish: A program that provides elementary school children with a chance to learn first-hand about the importance of protecting streams and rivers and about the vital role these habitats play for the salmon and trout who spawn in them Saturday, April 27, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Pick up a salmon release certificate at the West Vancouver Memorial Library, 1950 Marine Dr., then cross the street to Memorial Park to help a baby salmon begin its life in the wild.
