Summer Garden Party: Hart House at Deer Lake has announced the dates for their summer garden party series. Each evening starts with a casual wine tasting from the featured region, followed by an al fresco dinner on their estate lawn overlooking Deer Lake. Guests can purchase wine from a specially selected wine list. There will be live music at each event. Schedule: Aug. 31, Spain, $52. Hart House is located at 6664 Deer Lake Ave., Burnaby. Savour B.C.: Diva at the Met invites guests to explore the summer tastes of British Columbia with their new feature menu which showcases local food and wine. The three-course menu is available throughout August at both lunch and dinner and priced at $55 per person including wine pairings or $39 per person without wine. Enchanted Evenings Dinner Package: Enjoy dinner and music in Vancouver's Chinatown with a package that includes a pre-concert menu from Wild Rice Restaurant and a ticket to the "Enchanted Evenings" music series on Fridays until Sept. 2 at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden. Feast of Fields: Taste the very best of B.C. from regional chefs, vintners, brewers, distillers, farmers, fishers, ranchers and food artisans Sunday. Sept. 11, 1-5 p.m. This gourmet wandering harvest festival is an annual fundraising event for FarmFolk CityFolk, a program that supports communitybased sustainable food systems. The event will be hosted by Krause Berry Farms, 6179 248th St., Langley. Tickets are $85 and can be purchased at www.feastoffields.com, Choices Markets or Krause Berry Farms.

Nectar, Nourishment and Knowledge: The Cowichan Wine and Culinary Festival will celebrate Vancouver Island wines, culinary excellence and original music and art from Sept. 14 to 18. Visitors are encouraged to download a festival map before sipping and tasting their way though the Cowichan. There are 26 festival participants and most daytime activities are free. Wine and Food DNA: An inaugural event benefitting the B.C. Cancer Foundation will take place on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 6: 30 to 9: 30 p.m. Participants will sip, sample and learn about the DNA of food and wine pairing at tasting stations throughout the cellar of Mt. The Seventh Annual Food and Wine Festival in support of SOS Children's Village BC will take place Thursday, Sept. 22, 6-10 p.m. at Eaglequest Coyote Creek Golf Course, 7778 152nd St., Surrey. There will be local and international wines, gourmet food from local restaurants and artisan food merchants, a silent auction and live entertainment. Admission: $60. Tickets: www.sosbc.org.

Lobster, Beef and Chocolate Menu: Fleuri Restaurant chef Michael Deutsch will be serving a menu that includes lobster salad, lobster bisque chowder, beef tenderloin and a chocolate buffet. Plugged-in Tour: The Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts has launched a chef instructor led walking tour of Granville Island every Friday at 10 a.m. Savour the wares of the market's many artisans, farmers and food purveyors. Tour includes a PICA canvas tote, a to-go coffee or tea and a pastry. Fee: $40.
