Community Foundations of Canada is working with the

Vancouver Foundation in a bid to find articulate speakers who care about their community and aren't afraid of camera time.

Winners will be flown to Toronto to perform a spoken word anthem about community. Segments from the pseudo poetry slam will be used in television and radio commercials.

"We're hoping to get strong representation from B.C. residents who care deeply about their community and will become Canada's Community Idol," said Vancouver Foundation president Faye Wightman.

Entries must be received by Aug. 30. More details are available at communityfoundations.ca/talentsearch.
