WINNING SMILE
West Vancouver dentist, Dr. Geoffrey Gillespie of North Shore Smile, is the Canadian winner of the MacStudio veneers model search.
His model, Jessica Slavin, was chosen as the top cosmetic makeover for 2012. Slavin was flown to San Francisco and awarded a modelling shoot for the 2013 MacStudio campaigns.
Gillespie's work was featured last weekend at the Pacific Dental Conference with over 4,000 dentist colleagues in attendance. His smile makeover was chosen from hundreds of qualified cases last year. Gillespie is a graduate with distinction from the University of Saskatchewan and a 14-year veteran of the North Shore dental community.
NV SCHOOL GOES BLEU
The French International School of Vancouver is honouring the legacy of Jacques-Yves Cousteau - the celebrated French defender of marine ecology - by renaming itself The French International School Cousteau and pledging to make environmental awareness a significant part of its ethos and curriculum.
Located in North Vancouver, The French International School Cousteau becomes the first French International School in the world to be granted official permission by the Cousteau Society to bear its name.
As of March 14, the school will be represented by a new logo: a ship is depicted through the union of the national symbols of France and Canada, the Eiffel Tower and the maple leaf. The school has already initiated its new bleu curriculum with a focus on marine ecosystems developed through its partnership with the Vancouver Aquarium.
