Fair marks Ridgeway's 100th

RIDGEWAY elementary is celebrating its 100th birthday this year, and everyone who has been a part of the school's history is invited to join in.

The Ambleside Orchestra rehearses Wednesdays, 3: 305: 30 p.m. at Highlands United Church, 3255 Edgemont Blvd., North Vancouver under the direction of Nicolas Krusek. There are opportunities for string players.

THE Tsleil-Waututh Nation Child and Family Development Centre has received national recognition for its innovation related to early childhood education.

Double Take: Presentation House Gallery will hold a photography contest designed to inspire and encourage youth. Students are requested to choose an older image and show how the same place, person, object or building has changed over time.

Making dreams come true

Eight-Year-Old Noah Virgee sells lemonade and cookies at the entrance to Maplewood Farm recently to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He aims to raise $500 for the terminally ill over two days of fundraising.

BCHF supports local families

REPRESENTATIVES of the B.C. Hospitality Foundation recently gave a helping hand to a 20-year McDonald's employee. Last month, Vancouver resident Teresa Acosta received a cheque for $5,000 to assist with living expenses for her and her family.
