It was a night studded with local stars as the winners of the 20th annual North Shore News Readers Choice Awards receieved their awards Wednesday at a cocktail reception held at The View in North Vancouver.

Five North Shore residents were among the 150 Canadians honoured by Gov. Gen. David Johnston on Friday, March 4 at UBC’s Chan Centre for the Performing Arts.

Two wild salmon are making their way to Ottawa this week with North Vancouver MP Jonathan Wilkinson.

Cleveland elementary Grade 7 students Elliot Zywicki, Jennifer Holliday and Carina Copley assemble backpacks for homeless youth Feb. 20 as part of Project Backpack and the Vancouver H.E.L.P. for Street Youth of Canada Society.

UBC's Dr. Stewart Cohen was one of the guest speakers at the North Shore Streamkeepers workshop on the impact of climate change on North Shore fish and their habitats. The Feb. 6 workshop was held at Lynn Valley Community Room.

Mark Winston, author of Bee Time: Lessons from the Hive , reads from his publication at St. Catherine's Church on Jan. 26. The evening was hosted by 32 Hooks and Gallery.
