In recognition of Foster Parent Appreciation Month (October) the Ministry of Children and Family Development and Hollyburn Family Services held an awards ceremony and brunch on Oct. 16.

The sixth annual District of North Vancouver Firefighters charity fishing derby held on Sept. 22 raised $24,000. The funds will be split evenly between Athletics for Kids and the Seymour Salmonid Society.
