The Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild showcased more than 100 exceptional quilts during its Modern Quilt Show at The Pipe Shop in North Vancouver on Aug. 25 and 26.

Lea Abudo brushes a layer of glaze on wheel-thrown vessels at her ceramic studio. Abudo is teaming with painter Eva Kawczynski for Wheel of Art, a two-person show set to open Sept. 2 at Ron Andrews community rec centre.

Mark Ollinger was the lead artist who together with young painters finished a wall mural at 119 East 3rd. St. in North Vancouver.

The annual Polish Festival will be at The Pipe Shop and Shipbuilders Square this year, making a move from its former location at the Lynn Valley Plaza, North Vancouver. The family-friendly event starts at 1 p.m.

The North Vancouver Community Art Council and the CityScape Community Art Space are holding their 14th annual Anonymous Art Show. Cityscape is accepting 8x8 frameless submissions between now and Oct 27.

Amica at Edgemont Village held a Dog Appreciation Day event on Sunday (Aug. 26), with residents and staff of the seniors' residence bringing their pets together for an afternoon of dog-filled activities celebrating the joy that canine friends bring.
