North Shore students from grades four though 12 showed off their dance moves last Thursday at Centennial Theatr, as part of the 22nd annual North Vancouver School District Dance Festival.

Ginger Meatballs and Disco Monkey Busters put Bowen’s best foot forward earlier this month. The Bowen Island Community School teams both placed in their divisions in the provincial Destination Imagination competition in West Vancouver.

West Vancouver Police Const. Jeff Palmer takes a ride on the Super Shot at the WVPD Family Carnival held at Ambleside Park. This year’s carnival runs from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 7 p.m.

It was a banner week for wildlife viewing on Bowen. The island’s waters teemed with sea lions, seals, anchovies and even some orcas. Irene Paulus took this photo of some sea lions off the north side of the island.

The Lower Mainland enjoyed a warm, sunny Easter long weekend, but woke up to heavy rainfall on Monday, April 22. However, the Metro Vancouver weather forecast calls for bright sunshine throughout the rest of the week.

The Shipyards Friday Night Market will kick off another season of North Vancouver waterfront fun on May 3, but there will be something missing this year in and amongst the food trucks, vendors and bands.

You’ll have the pick of the litter when it comes to Easter eggstravaganzas this long weekend. First up, the North Vancouver Lions Club is hosting its Easter Egg Hunt for kids and their families tomorrow from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Heywood Park.
