A log house built by Japanese carpenters in 1911, it's now part of the West Vancouver Spuraway Gardens townhouse complex, located at 235 Keith Road. Previously owned by a number of well known families, the Mahons, Herrmanns, McDermotts, and Gibsons, the lodge has had a variety of uses over the years - summer cabin, home, farm and equestrian centre included.

Spuraway Gardens was constructed in the mid-1960s and the lodge is now used by residents as a club and activity centre.

Residents hosted a centenary celebration in April 2011 and Janet Morningstar and Robert Taylor wrote an account of the lodge's history.

Spuraway: 1911-2011 is available on the web, at www. spurawayhistory.com, and in hard copy form at the West Vancouver Memorial Library. Hard copies have also been given to the West Vancouver Archives, the North Vancouver Museum and Archives and the Japanese Canadian National Museum in Burnaby.

The book was published on March 15, the 100th anniversary of the incorporation of West Vancouver.
