Kids raced their soapboxes down Carnation Avenue outside Seymour Heights elementary on Sunday, June 19 at the annual Soapbox Derby hosted by Parkgate Community Services Society.
From January to June, two days a week for two hours at a time, the young racers in grades 6 and 7 crafted their custom soapboxes from scratch.
Supported by the United Way, the event also included music, a barbecue and activities for children.
