The following is a selection of volunteer opportunities from various community organizations, made available through Volunteer North Shore, a service of North Shore Community Resources Society.

Volunteer Bus Driver Capilano Community Services seeks volunteer Class 4 drivers to drive seniors to Seniors Hub programs and events. Good driving knowledge of North Vancouver is an asset.

Seniors Peer Support Volunteer Looking for caring volunteers to provide emotional support for seniors, also to guide them through changes, and challenges. Possible previous experience in people-related services.

Resource Centre Office Assistant Provide office assistance including creating and updating Excel documents; creating posters and notices using Word; checking database entries; managing support group reminder notices using automatic notifications in Outlook.

Drop Box Champion Volunteer will keep an eye on two to three donation boxes in their community by driving or walking past every one to two days and report when the box needs service i.e. because it has bags or boxes stacked outside the box, is full or has been defaced by graffiti.

Warehouse Volunteer Unpack, sort and stock food donations. Person should be able to lift items up to a maximum of 30 pounds.
