You do not need to be an "expert" gardener to participate.

Mentor: Mentor volunteers are needed to provide support and guidance to a young entrepreneur assigned by the Canadian Youth Business Foundation to successfully establish and sustain his/her new business start-up.

Watering Gardens: Gerry's Community Garden is seeking volunteers to help with watering and weeding over the summer months. Info: norman.olsen@ yahoo.com.

Special Needs Assistant: Cedarview Lodge is looking for volunteers to assist the reception staff with activities in the special care unit.

Distress Services Volunteer: A crisis centre is looking for caring, dedicated people to volunteer for its 24/7 Distress Services. Distress Services volunteers answer calls from people in crisis on the regional distress line. They also answer calls from the provincewide crisis number 1-800-SUICIDE. Volunteers also work on the YouthInBC. com web-based hotline for youth in crisis by conducting one-on-one chats with youth requesting support.
